Frequently Asked Questions
How does your pricing work?
The cost of your detailing service mainly depends on the services or addons you choose, the type of vehicle you have, and its current condition. These factors come together to determine the overall price of your personalized detailing experience. This is why you will typically only see “starting at” prices.
Do you require an electrical and water hookup?
While we are mobile, we do not currently have portable water/electricity so we would need both.
What is your cancellation policy?
There will be an 80% charge for day of service with same day notice, a 50% charge with 48 hours notice or more and a 100% charge if we do not hear from you after a half hour past your appointment’s start time to confirm our trip to you.
There are of course exceptions to this. We are fully aware emergencies happen and will do our best to figure out a rebooking scenario that works best for you if such an issue arises.
The only thing we kindly ask is that you let us know of any schedule conflicts that come up as soon as you can.
Why should I detail my car regularly?
Regular car detailing serves several important purposes. Firstly, it's a wise move for cosmetic reasons. For instance, after getting a fresh paint job, having your car detailed ensures it's free from accumulated contaminants, safeguarding the investment you've made in your vehicle. Maintenance is another key aspect. Both the interior and exterior of your car need periodic care. If your vehicle is aging or hasn't seen professional detailing recently, now is an opportune time for this upkeep. Moreover, if you plan to sell your car, detailing can significantly enhance its appeal to potential buyers by making it look its best. Lastly, maintaining your vehicle's value is a compelling reason for regular detailing. Especially for older models you intend to keep, periodic exterior and interior detailing every couple of years can help preserve a newer appearance, contributing to sustained value retention.
Where do you provide services?
We are currently servicing West Portland Metro specifically the Beaverton/Hillsboro area.
How can I tell if my vehicle needs to be waxed?
Following a thorough wash and drying of your car, glide your hand gently across its upper surfaces. These areas should exhibit a notably smooth texture. Should you detect any rough patches or experience resistance, this means it’s probably time for a wax treatment.
Another test involves spraying water onto your car's surface. If tight, compact beads appear this signifies the presence of adequate paint protection. In contrast, loose beads indicate insufficient protection, while the absence of any beads suggests a complete lack of protection, necessitating an immediate application of wax.
Do you offer same-day service?
If you text or call in, we can absolutely try our best! We are often booked in advance so it can be difficult to reserve something on the same day however you are more than welcome to reach out and try to set something up that way.
How often should I have my vehicle polished?
If you're maintaining your car diligently, performing a car polish once or twice annually should effectively address minor scratches or signs of wear. In cases where you often encounter scrapes or blemishes, opting for more frequent polishing sessions can prove beneficial.
How often should I have my vehicle waxed?
The frequency of waxing a vehicle varies and doesn't have a fixed answer. Some car owners find that waxing twice a year suffices, while others prefer waxing every three to four months, especially when seasons change. Certain individuals even opt to wax every eight weeks. The timing is closely tied to the environmental conditions the car faces. Cars stored in garages with controlled climates generally require less frequent waxing. On the contrary, cars parked outdoors, subject to severe winter conditions or constant sunlight exposure, benefit from more regular wax application.
How can I tell if my vehicle needs to be polished?
After thoroughly washing and drying your car, inspect the paint's surface. Should you observe swirls, scratches, rock chips, water spots, remnants of bird droppings, or traces of insects, it's an indicator that your car requires polishing. Why? Polishing effectively eliminates these bothersome irregularities, resulting in a remarkably smooth surface for your vehicle.
What is the difference between a wax and a polish?
Wax and polish are both important components of car maintenance, but they serve distinct purposes.
Car Wax: Wax is primarily used for protection. It's a protective layer applied to the car's paint after washing and polishing. Wax acts as a barrier between the paint and external elements like UV rays, dirt, and contaminants. It gives your car a shiny finish and helps maintain the paint's luster. Wax doesn't remove imperfections; instead, it enhances the appearance and shields the paint.
Car Polish: Polish, on the other hand, is used to improve the appearance of the paint. It's an abrasive product designed to remove small imperfections like light scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation from the paint's surface. Polish gently abrades the top layer of clear coat, leveling it and revealing a smoother surface. After polishing, the paint looks more vibrant and reflective.
In summary, wax is for protection and adding a glossy finish, while polish is for restoring the paint's appearance by removing imperfections. It's common to use both wax and polish as part of a comprehensive car detailing routine.
Do I need to remove my things from the car?
We do ask that you kindly remove all personal belongings prior to your service. If we start the service and find anything that does not look like garbage it will be bagged and set aside
Light garbage removal is included in our standard interior cleaning process but if there turns out to be an excessive amount, it will warrant an extra charge.
